Strata poetry readings

Auckland University Clock TowerA hasty reminder – Strata #6 is on tonight, 5-7 pm, at the Strata Café, Auckland University. The Strata poetry readings are an ongoing treat organised by the NZEPC, Auckland University Press and Auckland University English Department.

Tonight will feature Australian guest Mark Young (who will also be the star at LeafSalon’s In Context on Saturday at the Auckland Art Gallery, more tomorrow about that). Mark will be share the stage tonight with local poets and student writers: Sonja Yelich, Tim Page, Rene Liang, Vanya Lowry, Brian Flaherty, Miriam Barr.

There will also be ‘Guinea Pig Highlights’… the mind boggles.

How to get there: get to the corner of Alfred and Symonds Sts then use the Alfred St ramp by the University Book Shop and take the lift to level 4. The café is across the walkway, first door on the right – sounds complex, but not too bad actually. It’s free, and there’s food and drink on sale – if you need more information, contact Michele Leggott at m.leggott@auckland.ac.nz or phone (09) 373 7599 × 87342.
