A wee note received from the office of the Auckland Readers and Writers Festival shows they haven’t had their heads in books for the last few months – a couple of dates for that brand new diary: Sunday 21 and Monday 29 May, 2006.
I know May is a long way off, but bugger me if they haven’t gone and scored 2005 Man Booker Prizewinner John Banville and nerdy psychology comedian (my own label) Alain de Botton, who has a new book out in 2006 dealing with architecture. What jolly good luck! They’ve drolly called it ‘WitSunday’, and you never know, they may be announcing more to come.
On the 29th they’ve got Audrey Niffenegger, author of the The Time Traveler's Wife, another brilliant book. So there you are, don’t you feel better now you know you have something to do when summer’s over?
