Do people still hold their chins for photographs? My other favourite was being instructed to stand behind someone at their desk looking at some papers - although you have to be careful not to be mistaken for looking at their cleavage

I'm a complete 'lush' or 'groupie' or whatever the term is, for someone who attends all of the Book Council event/Modern Letters events. Robert Dessaix was riveting, real and very memorable.
To the person who made a comment about "do people still hold their chins for photos" - I can now confirm that this is a natural pose for Robert (he did it several times unselfconsciously - and it suits him). He claims through his knowledge and love of Russian, to have another self (who sounds not likely to pose holding his chin). So there you go.
Well worthwhile and thanks to Institute of Modern Letters and boy do they find high profile sponsors (front row Mae Chen 0f Chen and Palmer). These literary events are better than flu vaccinations!!
