Oh, the shame...

Amari HamadeneWell, well, an eyebrow-raising (not to mention eye-widening or gasp-making) spot of plagiarism has been brought to LeafSalon’s attention, thank you Stephen Oliver.

Naughty Algerian poet Amari Hamadene, (scroll down to his name under ‘Contemporary Poets’ and click; his voluble humility is quite funny in light of his transgressions) seems to have taken leave of his senses. For a well-established international poet and editor (alas no more, one would imagine) to plagiarise writers from all over the world – in some cases word for word – he must surely have been a few snags short of a barbie at the time.

The victims include no less than three from these very shores. Stephen Oliver, Stephanie de Montauk and Nola Burrell have all had their words ripped off. In most cases the offending poet has had ‘his’ work removed from the publishing site, but you can get the full story here. Don’t you lose your typing finger for that sort of thing over there?
