We all like a night out, even cardie-wearing bookish nerdypants like us. So here’s the perfect splurge: a weekly, no less, opportunity to meet local and international authors to discuss their work and lives. And you can mingle and listen to live music as well, whilst nibbling your (complimentary) nibbles and drinking your (complimentary) drink!

This ongoing Wednesday night event will be named, kiwiana stylee, The Chocolate Fish Sessions. It starts on the 2nd March and will be at the Jubilee Hall, 545 Parnell Road, Parnell, Auckland. Doors open at 7pm with some live music by Anu Grace and Peter Reilly. Then you’ll have the presentation of Made in Morocco by Julie Le Clerc (author of six best-selling cookbooks, food editor for Viva NZ Herald, staff writer for Cuisine) and photographer extraordinaire John Bougen. They’ll be talking about their amazing trip through Morocco, food, people and culture, ‘til 9pm, then signing their book for you ...
