Slow WaterAnnamarie Jagose has reaped the rewards of her Montana win, with Slow Water hitting the #1 spot in the latest New Zealand Fiction for Adults bestseller chart.

It’s followed by three familiar faces: The Denniston Rose, The Whale Rider and Heart of Coal.

Making its debut at #5 is In My Father's Den (Movie Tie In Edition) by Maurice Gee. Not bad for a novel that first appeared in 1972.

In the Non Fiction for Adults list we have five new listings. The winner of the Montana Reader’s Choice Award, Michael King’s Penguin History, still reigns supreme. It’s now chased by Medicine Man: The Doc Mayhew Story by All Blacks doctor John Mayhew.

John Tamihere: Black And White by John Tamihere & Helen Bain storms into the #3 spot, followed by Caleb Hall’s Destructive Deluge.

The Edmonds Cookery Book Revised Edition sits at #5 in its 65th week on chart, with Just An Opinion by Murray Deaker making its debut at #6.

The winner of the Montana Medal for Non-Fiction and the History, Anne Salmond’s The Trial Of The Cannibal Dog, slips five places to #7. And Murph's Law by racing driver Greg Murphy zooms in to #8.

A new incarnation of The Lord Of The Rings Location Guidebook (the ‘Extended Version’) by Ian Brodie debuts at #9, with Way of the Jafa by Lee Baker & Benjamin Crellin slipping four places to #10.
