God BoyAdvance information is out on the next Plumbly Rare Book Auction. It will be held in Dunedin on Thursday 5 August and includes many covetable items, including several First Editions of iconic New Zealand novels by Ian Cross and Witi Ihimaera.

These include Cross’ God Boy and The Backward Sex, and a whole brace of Ihimaera’s works: The Whale Rider, Tangi, Whanau, The Matriarch, The New Net goes Fishing and Dear Miss Mansfield.

Janet Frame is well represented, with nine books spanning from 1957’s Owls Do Cry to 1988’s The Carpathians.

James K Baxter volumes going under the hammer include Four God Songs, Six Faces of Love, Jerusalem Blues 2, Ode to Auckland, A Small Ode on Mixed Flatting and Letter to Peter Olds.

Hone tu Whare’s Deep River Talk and Something Nothing are also in the catalogue, along with Denis Glover’s Sharp Edge Up.
