For a spot of post-award literary ligging why not try this newly-listed event: the day after the Montana Book Awards winners are announced, Kim Hill will be interviewing all the available ‘newly anointed’ ones in a lunchtime bunfight at the Hilton, Auckland.

It’ll be on Tuesday 27 July from 12.15pm-1.15pm in the Aquamarine Room. The interviews will be recorded by Radio New Zealand and played on National Radio’s Outspoken programme after the 8.00pm news the same evening. You can buy the books and have them signed by the authors, and you’ll even get a freebie – a Deutz Piccolo (guess that’s one of those weenie bottles) to toast the winners!

Tickets are $15 / $10 for under-18s from Ticketek or there are limited door sales from 11.45am. And it’s first-come-best-seats so rattle those dags. And make sure you sort them out before you turn up at the Hilton.
