Chad invades France

French Electric coverAuckland writer Chad Taylor’s profile is rising in Europe, with his latest novel Electric scoring a rave review in last Friday's Le Figaro.

The novel was translated by Anouk Neuhoff and published earlier this month in France by Editions Christian Bourgois, which also published Taylor’s previous novel Shirker. The Le Figaro review was swiftly followed by another good notice, in yesterday’s Livres Hebdo.

Taylor won the Buddle Findlay Sargeson Fellowship in 2001 and was the Auckland University Literary Fellow for 2003. He appeared at the 2003 Auckland and Sydney Writers' Festivals, and his next novel, Departure Lounge, will be published early next year.
