It’s always encouraging to see the launch of a new publishing company in our small market, so top marks to Wellington-based Awa Press.
Awa Press officially launches tomorrow, and will focus on quality non-fiction. The first cab off their publishing ranks is Best: A New Zealand Compendium, compiled by Ella Griffiths. This looks like an intriguing concept with superb sales potential: it’s a guide to the finest that our country has to offer, from the best snowboard run to the best short story.
Awa Press is also publishing How to Watch a Game of Rugby by Spiros Zavos, and Embracing The Dragon, Polly Greeks’ memoir of a journey along the Great Wall of China.
LeafSalon wishes Awa Press the best of luck. If you’d like to know more about them, direct your enquiries to Bronwyn Bannister.
