evasion have announced the winners of the Hankins Award. The theme for the inaugural award was 'the nature of competition'. The winner is Brian Flaherty for Complete fiction and Terence Green’s untitled is the runner-up.

The Hankins Award is named after Andre Hankins who was one of the original contributors to evasion. The award will be given every four (yes, 4) months and as the eds. say 'the prizes may not be big but in the tradition of a school yard fight, the kudos is worth every penny'.
