As we’ve been pitter-pattering through these pages over the last six months, the response from you, our readers, has been overwhelming. Many of you have asked for information about who we are, so here’s a peek behind the scenes.

LeafSalon is a labour of love for Dee Murch, and Kathy and Chris Hunter. It’s a website to promote and report on the New Zealand literary scene, and to keep readers abreast of key international events.

Dee comes from a publishing and design background. As the person who can snatch a few more hours than the others, she organises and filters a huge amount of news into a relevant (and hopefully interesting) précis each day.

Kathy Hunter’s background is graphic design. She’s a voracious reader, and when not ferrying carloads of children around or weeding the scleranthus, she helps manage the business and reviews books in an inimitable stream-of-consciousness manner.

During daylight hours, Chris is a 'creative' at one of New Zealand’s biggest ad agencies, and by night has been instrumental in putting the website together.
