In May, fourteen writers and illustrators will be on tour for the New Zealand Post Book Awards.

Ngareta Gabel, Janet Hunt, Penelope Todd, Ted Dawe, Catherine Hannken, David Hill, Tessa Duder, Vicky Jones, Astrid Jensen and Ali Teo, Mark Inglis, Keith Olsen, Scott Willis and Jenna Packer will be taking to the highways and by-ways for eleven days of festivities, readings and book-related activities from Monday 3 May. The Book Awards for Children & Young Adults is a ten-day festival celebrating the importance of children's books, reading and writing with hundreds of events nationwide. These celebrations lead up to the announcement of the New Zealand Post Book Awards winners on Thursday 13 May 2004. (We posted the shortlist last month here.)
