The latest Book Council “Meet The Author” event is scheduled for the Auckland Central Library (on Lorne Street) for Monday 15 March.
First up is New Zealander Martin Edmond (pictured). His books include Streets of Music; Houses, Days, Skies; The Autobiography of My Father (place-getter, 1993 Wattie's Book Awards); Chemical Evolution: Drugs & Art Production, 1970-1980 and The Resurrection of Philip Clairmont (shortlisted for the Montana New Zealand Book Awards).
Edmond will be fresh from his appearance at the Writers and Readers Week on Wednesday 10 March, the day before his latest book Chronicle of the Unsung is launched.
The Australian poet Adam Aitken will also be appearing: he uses the “sharp gaze of the perpetual observer” to create poetry describing the life of repeated migration and the merging of East and West cultures.
Finally, you can inspect the undeniably cute Etgar Keret (also pictured).
He is apparently known as “the hippest writer in Israel”, and has created witty, sane and penetrating works including comics, TV comedy and short fiction.
