Auckland’s Covert Theatre is looking for scripts for the 2004 season of ONE. Last year was a huge success which saw five one-act plays produced in a sell-out season. In October this year ONE returns. They are looking for one-act comedy scripts that must be no more then 30 minutes long. All scripts must be in by April 20th. For more info email
The NZ Book Council has an opportunity for Young Playwrights aged between 16-22 to submit plays written in English or Maori.
The New Zealand Poetry Society 2004 International Competition, is also open. There are four sections, Open Verse and Open Haiku and Junior Open and Junior Haiku. The junior sections are open to NZ students who must be 17 years of age or under at 30 April 2004. For competition details...
For inspiration NZ Literary Tours. The company was formed in 1999 by Marie Burgess in collaboration with Dr Michael King. The aim is to promote New Zealand books and writers by visiting literary sites of luminaries such as Katherine Mansfields’ birthplace (shown) and Frank Sargeson’s cottage, whilst enjoying readings from contemporary New Zealand poets, novelists, short fiction and non-fiction writers. There are also opportunities to mix and mingle at functions with members of the Society of Authors.
