New Zealand books from LeafSalon: Vintage thriller uncorked
Vintage thriller uncorked

Nobody DiesGood New Zealand thriller writers tend to lack exposure, but a new entrant on the scene could change that. According to the Sunday Star Times, Nobody Dies is "a gripping new thriller by Auckland-based writer Zirk van den Berg".

Though they might not have read his fiction, van den Berg's name will be familiar to many readers. As communications manager for Montana Wines, he's frequently asked by the press to comment on new styles of wines or on the company's strategies for dealing with fluctuations in the annual harvest.

Iain Sharp, interviewing Berg, says the book "adds muscle and brainpower to local crime fiction".

Incidentally, Berg is published by Random House. Random’s Wine in New Zealand by Caroline Courtney has been named as one of the three finalists in the Best Book on Wine – New World category in the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2003.
