Takahe 44 coverEach year Takahe Magazine runs a writing competition, alternating between short story and poetry, and this year's winners have just been announced.

The 2003 Takahe Short Story Competition winner was Sue Emms of Tauranga, with second place going to Maggi Danby Belcher of Christchurch. The two runners-up were Maxine Alterio of Dunedin and Jenny Argante of Tauranga.

Takahe is a Christchurch-based literary magazine publishing short fiction, poetry & essays on cultural topics. It’s published each April, August and September.
