Barbara Anderson (pictured) has just released Change of Heart, “yet another wry, occasionally wise divertissement.”
Peter Wells likes it: “a delightful book which can be guaranteed to make you forget much of the weariness of daily life. It pokes fun at New Zealandness even as it celebrates our flat-vowelled qualities.”
Also reviewed in the Herald: James Henke’s Lennon Legend: An Illustrated Life Of John Lennon. A good book, by the sound of it, but one that “adds nothing to what we already know of this much-canvassed life” (Graham Reid).
Reid also examines According to the Rolling Stones, edited by Dora Loewenstein and Philip Dodd. “Longtime followers will learn little new … but the casual fan will find much of interest and, if they are lucky, it will be wrapped up under the Christmas tree. That seems the intention.”
