Wellington writer Lynn Davidson has just won the $18,000 Louis Johnson New Writers' Bursary from Creative New Zealand. Her first novel, Ghost Net, was published in February to general acclaim, and she’s also written short stories and a collection of poetry.
Davidson is a graduate of Bill Manhire’s famous creative writing course at Victoria University, and is no stranger to awards: she has won the NZSA-Readers Digest Writing Fellowship and the Aoraki National Short Story competition in the past. Looks like we’re going to be hearing a lot more about this writer.
