A bumper selection of new reviews in the Herald. First up is Nigel Latta’s Into The Darklands: Unveiling the Predators Among Us. Latta is an Auckland forensic psychologist who “hates the system” and is “vehemently anti-PC”. Reviewer David Lawrence says it’s “an unflinching, important book” and “I’d recommend it to anyone who cares about children. And to those who think tougher sentencing is the answer to violent crime”.
Also reviewed is Forza Amon! , a biography of “unlucky” New Zealand racing driver Chris Amon by respected motoring journalist Eoin Young. And bringing up the rear are a stack of short thriller reviews: Head Hunters by Michael Crespy, He Who Fears The Wolf by Karin Fossum, Hard Rain by Barry Eisler, Want To Play? by PJ Tracy and Missing by Karin Alvtegen. According to reviewer Michele Hewitson, all are recommended, although she has reservations about Alvtegen’s Missing.
